is it a bad decision or a good one since how south africa won the first test and also new prospects like Steyn are coming in.
I mean they just dropped the best all rounder in the world right now

Well dropping someone as great as Polly is kind of a wierd decision. Granted, the T20 WC didn't go well but he's a great test bowler. Why drop someone who's been so consistent for bowlers who haven't proved themselves completely. True, RSA did win, but Polly is a gem. You don't drop him unless he's injured.

Though South Africa won the first test match, I strongly feel that dropping Pollock is not a wise decision as he is a utility player.

Bad decision for short term, but this will definitely help SA later. By the time SA play the top three test playing teams, Steyn and others should be ready.

Like every great player a time comes when age begins to catch up a bit and they are not the force they once were.
Also you need to look to the future and encourage the new young talent
Its a shame when someone so talented and dedicated who is also a nice bloke has to lose out , but that is life I am afraid

Ha Ha Ha, I thought this was going to be a medical question. Turns out I misread the question.
