When I out my car in reverse it takes a few seconds to actually reverse. It sometimes does it when I put it in drive. Any body have an idea what it may be? I am taking it to the mechanic but I just want to get an idea.

It is a 2004 Dodge Neon Automatic.

Check trans fluid, maybe low.

need to rebuild the trans. not much longer before you will start to lose gears.
