I thought the Hawks made Backstrom look like Tretiak.
'm hoping Calgary and Colorado make him look like Red Light Racicot!

Yes. He was my top goalie choice in fantasy. When you look at how good the Wild's defense was last season, along with how good Backstrom's stats were for the limited games he played, it just makes sense that he will rack up some nice stats this year.

He's good but not great. At least, not yet. Playing for Minnesota sort of pads his numbers. If he was on a less defencive team his numbers would be worse than what they are. Of course, that's true for most guys. (Look at Auld in Florida last year.) But, the Wild must believe he is the real deal, or else they would've kept Fernandez. It'll take a little time to see whether or not he can cut it as the outright starter.

Before you get too excited about him think Theodore or Potivn. He looks good now but after a while teams get enough video to figure out how to beat him. Don't get me wrong, he may pan out. I've just learned that goalies come and go in the NHL pretty fast sometimes.

Now that he will start for the Wild, i think he will have a much better season. Get a few shutouts, average GAA and SV% .. should be alright for him.

Yes he is but he has lots of help being the Wild put defense first & subject hockey fans to boring 1-0 snoozefests!!!

good positioning against the hawks.
but the Hawks squandered a lot of shots. no finishers.
good team D in front of him.

so far so good, no roloson or fernandez, so the wild brass think so! and harding is in the wings waiting not too shabby there either!

Based on his sv pct I would say that he will win the Vezina trophy this year.
He is in my hockey drafts...... so I hope he will be amazing
