I would seriously be looking about for the kind of work I can do rather than relying on pensions. The fact of the matter is the government will not really be on board as much as you want them to be. Of course the work must be locative enough that you don't compromise your entire financial situation ie loose out on pensions benefits but not make the same money.

Email me if you want more info, I shant advertise the solution here for risk of the anti spam policy.

Good luck!

If your ill health is serious enough, and documented by doctors well enough, you may qualify for Social Security Disability benefits. If you have children living at home, you may qualify for SSI, an additional benefit to Disability.

You may apply at any Social Security office, or online at:

http://www.ssa.gov/

You will find much information here that will help you learn if you would qualify for something or not. Be forewarned, that the process is like pulling teeth out of cement, and often times takes years before you qualify. However, if you qualify you will receive benefit from when you first applied.

There are Social Security Disability attorneys, who will take your case on a contingency basis (I believe the standard fee is 25%) of any benefits you are awarded initially—it is not a continuing fee once you qualify.

The standard scenario is that you apply, are denied, appeal, denied again, and then put in line with numerous others for a hearing. All this takes years, but you just have to persist and work within the system.

Blessings!

i'm assuming with this answer which you're interior the united kingdom, if no longer then I apologise! there is no longer something to resign you employing for early retirement from all your arrangements whether you have been granted an unwell well-being pension out of your present day employer. in case you will desire to purchase an annuity with the proceeds then you somewhat would desire to get a greater applicable value than the common healthful guy or woman your age as you would be waiting to notice for an impared existence annuity. while you're fortunate adequate to have a deferred very final income affiliation that's properly worth asking in the event that they have any unwell well-being words for deferred participants. this might often be granted on the Trustees discretion and you will would desire to pay for any medical comments required yet you lose no longer something in asking. All of this assumes which you're over the minimum retirement age of fifty. stable success!
