I don't believe any state is more powerful than another. During election Florida's electoral and California's electoral may appear as more desirable states to win, but more powerful? No. Absolutely not.
Money does not make a state more power than another. Texas is the oil state! We are not individual countries, we are the United States of America.
Each state sets its own laws, however, Federal laws take precedent. That is to say, one state may say 'no' to drinking age of 21, another state may say 'yes' to 21, but if the Federal Government says it will be 20, and the bill passes, then that is what it is, 20. However, keep in mind the Federal Government is run by people the state's population picks to represent them in the House.
So, if you consider Electoral Votes as Power, that really isn't right--- Electoral Votes do not give power of any kind, they just make a state more appealing. IF and that is a very big IF, Electoral Votes did give power, then it would be short-lived, temporary. Perhaps we should ask what the term 'Power' means to the asker....
PS. ALL States have only two Senators. However, Representives are based on population. And Electoral Votes is another... Electoral Votes don't give power, they make a state more desirable to spend time and money on during the Election Process....

Define your term...
I could point out that Missouri has the bulk of the nuclear missiles in this country and the stealth bomber force. Is that what you mean by most powerful?

Ohio! We have the best people, and you can't ignore human resources. If not for Ohioans, there wouldn't be a 'United' States! (Thank you, Grant and Sherman)
