I have had irregular periods my whole adult life. I didn't start my periods until just before I was 18 and i'm now 23 . I can go months without a period ( normally bout 3) and then have one and be regular for a couple of months. I'm otherwise healthy-ish maybe slightly overweight. has anyone had similar experience or able to help??

IT takes several years for a cycle to regulate, and in the beginning it is common to skip months between periods. It doesn't matter how old you were when you started. It takes awhile for your body to get used to the new horomones.

A birth control pill would help regulate your period. Talk to your doctor and do some research.

This is very common and if it bothers you I would speak to your health care provider about getting on something like the pill which can really help regulate your period (and can also help with cramping and heavy bleeding)!
