There should be no problem moving a boat to salt water. It does require different bottom paint. We have moved a 30 footer from fresh to salt, and traveled up and down the East coast and into the Erie Canal and Finger Lakes. and back into the Chesapeake.

If it has a motor it might not be made for salt water use, the paint would not be for salt water, you might have to add some ballast because of the greater buoyancy and the fittings and every other piece of metal on the boat might not be salt water grade stuff.

Yes, but keep in mind that salt water is harder on boat parts and such. Talk to someone with experience about any upgrades, repairs, or refinishes that might be advisable for its new life at sea.

Have a marine paint shop check the paint. Should be fine though.
