SNOW WHITE (1937)

This is the first work considered a film. Shorts are not films; they were shown before a film or between showings of films.
Quote from first source:
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a 1937 animated feature, the first produced by Walt Disney."
Quote from second source:
"1937: Studio produces its first full-length feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film is also the first American animated feature film in history, and is the highest-grossing film of all time until 1939's Gone with the Wind."

Other countries made animated films prior to Disney. "Steamboat Willie" is an animated feature, which is not a film. "Fantasia" came along much later.

Quote from source:
"Steamboat Willie (1928) is an animated cartoon featuring Mickey Mouse released on November 18, 1928. It was the third Mickey Mouse cartoon to be made, though the first with sound."

For example: "Snow White" would be eligible for a Best Film Oscar, but "Steamboat Willie" would be in another category. In fact, "Snow White" DID win an honorary Oscar:
Quote from third source:
"For Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, recognized as a significant screen innovation which has charmed millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field (one statuette - seven miniature statuettes)."

By the way, "Song of the South" (1945) was the first live-action film for Disney, but it included animated sequences.

Mickey Mouse, Disney's most enduring character, was introduced to the world in the film Steamboat Willie - the first ever synchronized sound cartoon, which premiered in New York on 18 November, 1928.

The first full-length animated musical, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, came out nine years later.

regrettably, this is precisely how the tale might have performed out and it would be racist. The princess would not be extraordinarily the two - she'd have lips that took up maximum of her face and the prince could be goofy finding. i've got heard that Disney would be popping out with a black princess quickly in spite of the shown fact that. a renowned Disney princess tale would not be so racist.

Steamboat Willy. But this is debatable. There are some who say he stole the idea from someone else - the stop frame thief!
