the theory is that they came from Asia(Siberia) across bering straight, which was connected with Alaska back in the days, so slowly thhey populated both- South and North America. Indians are are a branch of the yellow race to which all far east asians more or less belong. Thats the mainstream theory. And yes, they were the 1st people ever to populated the Americas and yes, the white Americans are invaders.

Depending on how far back you go, the answer to your question is either 1. They were already here, hence NATIVE American. Or 2. Further back, it is generally believed that the original Americans came across a land bridge between what is now Alaska and what is now Siberia (obviously that land bridge is no longer there).

Three of the four main ancestral groups diverged from their Asian forbears at least 20,000 years ago. And even more striking, the first Americans didn't all come at once, but in at least three waves of migration over the Bering Strait ice bridge. The fourth ancestral group had DNA tracings back to the Solutreans, people who lived in Ice Age France and Spain. Their progeny are linked by DNA to the modern day Ojibwe Indians.

From where is a great Question. First you must understand that life began with Black beings with wolly hair going back to a number that anthropolist say is millions of years ago.

These Black beings multiplied and migrated all over the planet. Because our country, now called "America", was attached to the Asian continent before it was naturally separated, these Black Beings were able to cross Strait into this land. The Olmec and Washitaw African peoples were two nations out of many that crossed the Strait.

A good place to start is a book called "They Came Before Columbus" by Doctor Ivan Van Sertima.

American Indian people believe we came from this land, not over a land bridge or on boats across the ocean. We didn't come from anywhere else. Our genesis was on this continent.
