I work, well worked for the post office. I got a letter in the mail saying I was terminated. (the 1 yr or 180 day termination period for a TRC) I figured hey I finally got my raise and position because about 7 months back I took and passed the RCA exam so therefore I should be an RCA. I was never switched over in the paper work to say that I was an RCA so it still states that I'm a TRC and now have lost my job. They are in the process of trying to get me my job back but if they dont can I sue? possibly get reimbersment for the months that I was supposed to get paid alot more becuase of the position that I was supposed to have? and maybe for future days that I am or was supposed to work?

Ok I'll shorten this up and rewrite it. I frist started as a TRC which this position is temporary and only last about a year or 180 days I guess then I'd be terminated... which is what happened. I've been working there for exactly a year and just got this termination notice. But... I took the RCA test 7 months ago and passed so at that moment I should have been an RCA which is a union position which makes better pay and cant be terminated in a year. I'm good at my job and do nothing wrong. my supervisor was confused as to why i was fired and is lookin into it

Tell us the rest of the story. Getting fired from the Post Office almost takes an act of Congress. You must have really, and repeatedly screwed up. We can't make a decision with only part of the story.

Well if you were never actually made a RCA and never received pay scale for RCA, then you never were an RCA. I dont think you can get paid for a job you should have had. Just the one you had. Also if you were supposed to be in a union, and you get this backpay, you may owe the union back dues as well. For future reference, if you expect a certain pay, check into it. Dont sit back and do nothing. Good luck.

When my sister lost her job unfairly she contacted the local Department of Labor. She was able to get her old job back, back pay etc. I would contact them if I were you just to see if you have anything coming to you.
