I don't understand the "per account" portion. Medians and means all require more than one number. So maybe they really want to know the median and the mean for all the accounts. If that is the case, then the accounts (listed in order of lowest to highest) are:

$25, $75, $156, $215, $318

The mean is the average. Add all the numbers and divide by the number of accounts -

25+75+156+215+318 = 789; 789/5 = $157.80

The median is the number in the center of the list once it is in order- or $156

The MEDIAN is the middle value when the terms are put in Rank order.
Rank order = $25, $75, $156, $215, $318.
The middle term is $156. This is the MEDIAN Value.

The MEAN (Average) is found by adding all the values together and then dividing by the number of terms, there being '5' terms.

MEAN = ($25+$75+$156+$215+$318) / 5
MEAN = $789/5
MEAN = $157.8

The median is the middle number of the group. 318 is the highest, 25 is the lowest, 156 is the 'middlest'.

The mean is the average. Add up all the amounts and divide the total by 5 ('cause there's 5 children).
