The Davinci Code is a fictional religious novel by Dan Brown. He did not make up the fictional theme of this story, but borrowed heavily from the Jesus conspiracy theory book entitled "Holy Blood, Holy Grail."
The basic premise is that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and before he was crucified, she became pregnant with his child. This "child" was the real "Holy Grail" of Christian Mythology. (In Old French, san gréal means "Holy Grail" and sang réal means "royal blood").
After the crucifixion, Mary and child were whisked away to southern France where this daughter of Jesus bore the Merovingian bloodline of early French Kings.
The theory goes on to state that certain secret societies throughout history, such as the Knights Templar's, Freemasons and others, including DaVinci and Sir Issac Newton have been protectors of this secret.
The Davinci Code is a modern day adventure, like Indiana Jones and the last Crusade, with the hero searching for and discovering clues, which will ultimately lead him to finding the true "Holy Grail" or lineage of Jesus.
I have never read the book, but as far as the movie is concerned, there is nothing blasphemous about it. Because the "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" theory is not presented as fact. There are simply characters in the story who happen to believe it. At the end of the movie, there is no conclusive evidence, beyond the discovery of an even larger group of people who all believe it.

The actual code is that in di vinci's picture of the last supper the person on Jesus's right hand is a woman and looking at the picture that is probably right. The angle of her body is important because is forms a V with Jesus which has some significance which suggests evidently that the two people were married. We suppose that the woman would be Mary Magdalene as she was a very important apostle and there is certainly a very strong possibility that Jesus was married to her as he was an orthodox Jew and his parents would have arranged a marriage for him.
But the code is the figure and the angle between their bodies

The Da Vinci Code are secret messages and codes found hidden in artworks of Leonardo Da Vinci. Many of his religious paintings revealed secrets from the Bible. Most of his paintings surrounds the mystery life and identity of Jesus. Leonardo Da Vinci was part of an underground society (Priory of Sion ) who supposely are protecting the true identity of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and their descendants. Two famous controversial religious paintings were The Last Supper and Madonna On The Rocks. Many historians are still trying to uncover secret messages and codes, which were believed to be left behind by Leonardo Da Vinci 488 years after his death.
Skeptics reasoned this phenomenon as ludicrous and these paintings were subject to bias interpretation.
The novel was excellent. I highly recommend you should read it. It is a fictional novel, however, the facts are true (many people may disagree). The paintings do exist, I have seen these two paintings myself and I suppose you just have to judge it for yourself.

I own a DVD of a National Geographic TV show about this titled "The Da Vinci Code, Real or Not?" I have seen other shows about this. Dan Brown made $76,000,000 with this rubbish. Supposedly Leonardo da Vinci was one of the men in charge of the Priory of Sion that protected the secret that Jesus wed Mary Magdalene and that their descendants were kings of France in the Merovingian dynasty. Some say in Leonardo's painting of "The Last Supper', Mary is at Jesus' right hand. Actually, it is john who is shown in many painytings of the period as a young frail boy that some mistake for a girl. Pierre Plantard concocted the whole scam. Brown was sued for plagiarism of the earlier book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail".

It's just a novelized version of the theory that Jesus was married to Mary Magdeline, and after his death she (while pregnant) fled to France. A secret society protected the bloodline from a Vatican based organization that would snuff out the decendants so their religion wouldn't ever be threatened by "the truth".
Never even touched down on the Merovingians if memory serves. I read it really quick and didn't retain much. Wasn't as good as his Angels and Demons book.
It's not a very popular theory obviously. People like to call it blasphemy and such, kinda says that the Catholics were lying all along.

Its supposedly a "twist" that Brown gave to the story of Jesus Christ.....saying that Jesus had intercourse with Mary magdalene( the supposed prostitute that jesus saved......"whoever is not guilty of sin cast he first stone" In the bible, also one of the less talked about deciples of Jesus Christ) and concieved a baby.............remember that the books in the "fiction" area.......people are taking this way to seriously and its becoming a controversial topic these days.......its just a book with an alternative ending.......not real.... fiction....I hope that this is simple and helps you understand a little better!
