That's what counseling is all about... learning to open up more. In the beginning it will take time for you to be open with your counselor and that is normal. Sometimes it takes several sessions for people to feel comfortable enough to share secret thoughts and feelings. And, those intimate feelings don't come out all at once. It's like peeling back an onion, one layer and one session at a time. Also, if you attend several counseling sessions and you still can't open up it could very well be that you don't click with that particular counselor. If you don't like conversing with a specific counselor it doesn't mean that counseling doesn't work... it just means that it's time for you to request a different counselor until you find one that you feel comfortable with.

Good luck!

Counseling helps! yes it does. You don't have to come out immediately. Of course it takes time to develop a relationship with the counselor and gradually when you are comfortable enough you could talk about your sexuality.

Oh and to answer your question about how you feel better about yourself. Well ask your self, why do you feel so ashamed of your self? You could also try to make friends who are in the same boat, it helps a lot too when you don't have to face the world alone.

But a good counselor should help a lot. So don't be shy and go to the counselor and talk about life, believe me it helps. Best!

Proper counselling will probably help, as they're trained to help you become more open and trusting.

Just relax, you'll be fine :)
