There is an owl outside my window every night. I have finally decided to take it out tonight. I think that I would like to eat it.

Well you could, however, all owls at least in the US, are protected by the migratory bird act which allows for a large fine plus jail time for having any birds, parts or products made from such birds. Also, owls, like most other wild birds don't have a lot of meat on them so there's actually fairly little to make a meal of. And finally, if that's not bad enough, have you ever tried to pluck a bird before? It's a friggin nightmare and takes forever and the dark feathers of an owl would show up (ones that don't get plucked all the way) like a sore thumb on the skin - that's why chickens raised for eating are all white - the feathers that are missed are much harder to see! All in all, a fast food meal would be more enjoyable.

Well if you do, your selfishness, will get you in to trouble. Owls are protected by state and federal laws. Most cities protect them as songbirds. So, I suggest you keep your comments on what you might do to yourself, especially if such comments are considered a threat. Which your is.

No owls are not edible. If owls and hawks and eagles were edible, our native Americans would have eaten them. But, there is no evidence to suggest they did. Yes, they did kill them for the feathers, but not as part of the usual table fare.

Leave the wild to the wild.

If you eat it, you will be eating everything it ate. Owls eat some pretty strange stuff.
