if u bought used engine from someone that have engine hoist then put it in the back of the truck for u and brought them home but u dont have no engine hoist also have engine stand.. how can u get the engine off the truck without engine hoist? the engine is Chevy V8 any suggest? thank for reading...

lots of places rent this type of equiptment,might check on one and rent it for a day,you most likly wontneed it all day but it could take a lot of extra work out of the job and make it much safer,and most rental fees are reasonable,and once you get it out of your truck you have the ability to move it to where you want to store it or work on it.

Do you have a car port or anything overhead that is strong(even a tree)? If so, back up and use a pulley system to lift it up.

Tie a rope around it and lower it down on planks

build a tripod with three pipes and a cheap come along..

if you take the heads off , I can pick up a small block chevy short block...CAUTION it is heavy
