I have had two dreams in which Russian was spoken, but one was before I had taken any Russian, and one after I had been in a Russian class for only 2 weeks or so (which means basically no russian skills whatsoever). This can't be real Russian can it? How can it happen? Is it just rambling that my brain tells me is Russian? Why would it do this?

I imagine it's not real Russian, it's just your interpretation of what Russian sounds like. I have dreams where I'll be talking to someone, and I'll ask a question and this person will give me an answer that I didn't know. How can I give myself an answer that I don't even know? Strange.

It's impossible to dream in any language with which you are not familiar. What you perceived as Russian was probably just gibberish, even though your dream seemed real. If you continue with your Russian classes, and become more proficient in the language, then it's possible that your dreams could feature some of the Russian in them. But before that, Nyet!

When you have something on your mind and go to sleep, you often dream about that which was making an impression on you. I'll bet since you are taking Russian language classes, this is the reason for the dreams. Happy dreaming. Good luck.

If you're taking lessons in Russian and your dream is in Russian it sounds like your just dreaming about learning the language.

It is easy to dream in Russian. Just think about 3 hot meals a day, a house with a front and back garden, free Lada serving for life and limitless supplies of alcohol.
