This is the freedom our people before us fought for?

I wasn't specifically referring to the U.F. student.

This is happening all over our country!

So you weren't referring to the event which happened just about a month ago, you are referring to an article written 4 years ago. Oh that's much much better.

Why don't you take a look at each case indivudually (and open mindedly) and decide if there was a case for the arrests?

I love how everyone jumped to the "Don't taze me" guy...even though you never mentioned him!

The facts stand that it is happening time and time again, but this is what happens:

1. You ONLY hear about it or see it on the internet..the un-edited version.

2. If you hear about it on the news, they make it out to be the PERSONS fault even if it isn't...it is ALWAYS the persons fault.

3. You can't protest ANYWHERE near the WH even though it is the TAX PAYERS house to begin with! What is the point of protesting if the people who you want to hear is no where in the vicinity.

4. Groups are infiltrated with CIA and FBI trying to get groups of people to do illegal acts. This has been documented time and time again and when the person is ratted out, the person just disappears from the area...the only thing that is known is that the person was not who they say they are.

5. People are arrested for a period of time and then let go after the event is over, without charges being charged. It is a way to get rid of people in an area without them coming back. But there is no record.

Good question...too bad that there are those that are too brain washed and can't understand what you are asking.

I agree|

We are more like a police state now than a free society|

But it is *always* on some seemingly justifyable pretext|

For example, what in the past would be called a "character" or someone with an unusual sense of humor would be deemed now as having a mental disorder|

Getting angry now, for whatever reason, would be justification for incarceration, whereas in the past, anger was seen as the proper response to something bad being pulled on you - but now, anger in itself is seen as the person having a problem|

Expressing certain points of views or having certain views of the nature of the universe can get you hauled away now - there is no real freedom of speech now, except for what is permitted or mandated.

If you are walking in a given way, or doing something, or saying something "unacceptable" it seems that security guards can pull guilt trips on you|

In Montrreal, where I was, I started onto a free-way walking, and in two minutes a security car was there, asking me to get in (I felt I could not refuse), and he said that the next time I wanted to traverse the city, that I was not to walk, but take a taxi (huh! - free society or police state?) - I needed emergency money from welfare when I was there, and I was asked: "why did you move here (anyone's business?) - if you break the law on some technical point, they are there in two seconds flat - but if you are the subject of a real crime, they might get back to you in two days|

So I have experienced that in a big way, and so have many other people|

It seems as if we are not free to do what we legitamately want and in the way we legitamately want to do it, but are now constrained by a myrad of rules and regulations, specifying how we are to do everything now|

It is ominous, I would say|

Someone in high places is after your freedom to add to his pleasure and power, which is of course all done in secret without public input, as we notice walls of secrecy being put up everywhere to block our everything from everything else (I don't know about the U.S. but in Canada, even our resturaunts are being segregated into different sections, with tinted windows separating everything)|

there is alot of stuff like that going around. campuses and local authoritys enforcing rules that break the laws. its horrible. if the next president doesnt step in and fix all this current chaos there is likely to be a rebellion of some sort, maybe not a full all out civilwar but something.

Well Kelly, have you been practicing your goosestep yet? It would appear that “we the people” have no say in even our own local government nowa days…

I’m thinking that while “they” have us fighting amongst ourselves with partisan politics, “they” are sucking this great nation dry of any worth it ever had.

Do I have an answer? I sure wish I did, but no.

I assume you mean the Don't Tase Me Bro guy...

1. It was a citizen, not "citizens."
2. He was rambling on for at least 45 seconds before he even asked a question. No one else took over a few seconds.
3. He piled on three questions - including a ridiculous one about some fraternal order he joined 40 years ago - not letting John Kerry (D-MA) answer any of them.
4. He refused to give up the mike when asked.
5. He threw a hissy fit when the mike was cut off.
6. He resisted arrest.

Look that idiot was not arrested for asking a question , had he complied with the officers and not tried to pop a clutch he would not have gotten zapped ...

He totally planned on trying to break bad just to get attention , he wanted to see how far he could go because he was going to be a " Bad @ss " instead he left out crying like a "wittle beeyatch " he deserved all he got ...
