So I finally saved up enough money to get a new bike, but it's the very end of the riding season here (colorado), and there's only a few days left. My question is can I save money by buying the bike now and storing it for the winter, or am I better off just waiting till spring? If it is cheaper now, is it worth having seven thousand dollars sit in my garage all winter?

Thanks guys!

Winter is the best time to buy because sales are slow. The next years models have already been released in Sept. and are sitting on the showroom floor. So, that means they will want to move the 2007 models out as fast as they can before year end. I would go down to a dealer in late Nov. or early Dec. because Xmas is getting close and people are spending money on that, not on bikes. So, the dealers will really be motivated to cut a deal on an '07 model then. Of course, selection may be limited by then and they may not have the bike you want or the color, etc. you want. So, it's kind of a balancing act. I would go down now and start looking at what's available/prices and get to know your dealers. If you leave and come back later a few times, they should recognize you and that helps some in negotiating a price. Spring time is when prices jump up because that's when riding season starts and everybody wants a bike. Good ol' law of supply and demand. Good luck.

You need to move to a place where you can ride all year long, like Florida....
