Shes a lil over 2 months old now, and she still will only barely drink 2 oz of formula every few hours... I also nurse her but I only produce about 1/2 an oz every couple hours so.. She seems to be getting longer, but she looks kind of on the thin side... I have an appt for her on Tuesday but I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem also, and if so, what happened? She was born full term, 18 inches and 7lbs 6 oz at birth...she actually looked chubby then... She has wet diapers 5 times a day and poops usually at least once a day. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated :o)

I still worry about how much my daughter drinks and she is 10 months old. She has always consumed less that what is considered "normal". At her 2 month check, she was barely eating over 20 ounces a day, and didn't drink over 2-3 oz's at each feeding either. She was over 6 months before she ever drank over 4 ounces at a time.
But she has always been in the 50 percentile for weight and 75th for heighth. Currently, she is 10 months and weighs 20 pounds and still consumes around 20 ounces a day.
Also, different formulas all taste different too. She just might not like the taste of the one your using.
Either way, when you take your baby to the doctor, you'll see that she's gaining weight, and it might ease your mind a little bit.
Good-Luck

As long the baby is gaining weight, wets diapers and poops everyday, everything is fine. It's nothing especific in how much a baby need to drink. Each baby is unique in the way they eat, sleeps, etc... But it's ok to check with the Dr.

Unless your pumping your breast milk and feeding it to your baby via a bottle you really don't know how much shes drinking. A baby who nurses gets 50% of what they drink made while they are drinking. Plus a baby is way more effective for getting milk out of the breast then a pump is. I think your baby sounds fine and not to worry. Her diapers and poops sound good.

If she wasnt getting enough she would let you know. You wont always make only 1.5 oz at a time, you'll make more the more she nurses.

So long as she's peeing like you say she is, shes fine.

Babies lose bulk when the get longer. Happens to all of them.

Not to worry... been there. She'll eat when she wants to eat and as much as she wants. As long as the diapers are wet at least 2 times a day you're worrying about nothing.

I agree to get her looked at just to make sure there is nothing wrong, but i don't think there is anything wrong. If she is satisfied with the amount you give her she should be fine. Overfeeding her may turn her into an overweight child and that will affect her for sure.
