I agree - but not a lot of people do. I posted a similiar question earlier:
My comments:
Bad publicity move for someone who used to be a class-act.
I heard someone put it like this: Would you cheat on your husband/wife with your high school sweetheart? He's a big part of Cleveland now - and although he doesn't need to be a huge fan - he should support those who support him.
Like the phrase "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".
He humiliated himself. I used to think he was a class-act. No more though. This makes me doubt he'll stick around after his contract expires. He has no loyalty to his fans. Not that most superstars do... but I awalys liked to think LeBron was different.
Boo, LeBron. What a stupid and immature act.
Edit1:
Yeah, he's a Yankee fan. I get it. He's made that known since day one. But - to go out there amongst his greatest fans and FLAUNT the yankee gear... it's just bad PR and poor taste.
Edit2:
AGAIN. The Cleveland fans feed him... and they're the same fans.
My point is not that he can't be a Yankee fan... but that he showed disrespect to HIS city by doing what he did.

I am also a die hard Cleveland sports fan and i think that it's okay that he's a Yankee fan, but i don't think he should of done the interview during the game last night. he didn't need to talk about his love of the Yankees during the game , he should of just politely said no to Craig Sager when he asked for the interview. He's probably a Yankee fan because the way he was raised. I'm guessing his mom didn't have any loyalty to any team. he lived in the ghetto and he's african american(im not trying to be racist), most people who are like him root for the teams who do best, him and his friends from when he lived in the projects probably liked to imagine playing for the richest most popular team in sports and making big money since they were so poor. Did you here what his favorite football team was? The Dallas Cowboys, America's team. At least he's been a Yankee fan his whole lifee and doesn't just jump on the bandwagon of oter teams when they're doing good. What I really would of liked to hear him say is that he always roots for the Yankees, unless they're playing the Indians, or like you said, he can be a Yankee fan, but he does't need to be so open about it and doing interviews about it and stuff. GO INDIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO BROWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they will give the patriots their first loss also, GO CAVALIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you put it the best out of everyone who posted something about this subject so far...'he should have shown us some respect' Of course he has the right to root for any team he wants and anyone can understand that, but to go the JACOBS FIELD and wear the yankee hat and talk all that stuff was disrespectful. He should have just waited until the series went back to New York and rooted for them there, dont come to our house which is in the city that you play for, and put on a mockery...it isnt cool, but like everyone is saying its bad PR and im really disappointed lebron :( but it is funny that he turned his hat around after the yankees were getting slaughtered lol

The Indians have won a worldwide sequence, and would do so lower back this 365 days. i think of the Browns winning the Superbowl may well be plenty extra advantageous in Cleveland. could this be the 365 days Cleveland will become the city of champions? Indians have a reliable shot, Cavs have a reliable shot, Browns....nicely...they had a reliable draft...it somewhat is a commence!

Rshin....hahahaha.
Really, though, I see both sides to this. I can understand how it would upset the fans because in doing what LeBron did, it's saying he is essentially going against all of Cleveland when they're all rooting for him. But on the other hand, we all root for who we want, right? You can't expect everyone in your town, including players from other sports associations, to cheer on your city's team. I guarantee the Cleveland fans will forget all about it when LeBron is carrying his team as far as they'll go.

I kind of agree with you. It's one thing to root for your favorite team, but it's another thing to show the world who your rooting for.
It may be *********, he may think that he is so good that they will still root for him in Cleveland...
This kind of thing happened in Boston, also. Tom Brady was once seen sporting a Yankees cap. Now that's bad... The Red Sox & Yankees rivalry is the biggest one in sports!
It's not that big of a deal, but by doing this your chances of losing fan loyaly increases. It hurts more than helps.

I am with you. I was stunned when I saw that. I wish I was there to yell, "This is worse than the day I figured out Jesus was a jew!" I think that would have been funny. Just jokin about the jews lol.
Anyway, I hate the fact that he roots for the yankees. I guess even Lebron is a front runner.

Yeah, whatever. We don't need him. Did you hear how loud that place was last night!? It was incredible. At one point, the crappy annoucers finally shut up for a few seconds, and you could hear the "Yankees Suck!" chant loud and clear. It sounded like when an opponent comes to Cleveland Browns Stadium and they have the ball at our 40 on 3rd and 6. I love our fans.
