Both ibuprofen and aspirin give pain relief/inflammation relief in the same way so one wouldn't expect the combination to be any better than just one or the other.

Not aspirin, I can tell you that right now. It depends on what your dental pain is stemming from. Did you recently have oral surgury? In that case, you may want Ibuprofen to help with reduction of the swelling. Do not take aspirin if you are at risk for bleeding. In addition to the ibuprofen, I would also take acetaminophen. A combination may help the pain, espeically if it is neuropathic.

only if the asprin is the low dose theraputic sort (81mg). They are both very harsh on the stomach, so taking them together is bad.

It wont hurt you. Alot of people take an aspirin everyday for their heart. It is fine as long as your not mixing high dosages all the time.
