The guy above me doesn't know what he's talking about... Ozone is ozone - O3 - never NO2, which is always called "nitrous oxide."

There is tropospheric ozone (contributor to smog) from incomplete combustion in our internal combustion engines - this is what is in the air at ground level and at high levels is dangerous to those at risk. It's a very reactive molecule and destroys nylon, rubber, and other materials, and injures or destroys living tissue.

Stratospheric ozone is the "Ozone Layer" which protects the earth from the sun's radiation and that CFCs in aerosols would interact with to create CO2 (carbon dioxide) thus destroying the O3 molecules. Good news - the layer is on the mend. http://sciencenow.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/2007/911/1

About an "ozone blocker" - don't really have a clue what that could be except to protect something from the effects of atmospheric ozone.

Found this patent site that claims to provide protection from degradation caused from ozone... http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6350810.html

the "ozone" is the pocket around the quarterback. The ozone blockers are the offensive linemen. These are typically huge dudes that could make mincemeat out of the average person in mere seconds. They are also, usually the 1/4back's best friends.

There is a ozone in the ozone layer that protects us which is O3, and will kill u. The weather man's ozone is actually NO2 and is produced by cars.
