I am a first time mom of an 8 month old. I went back to work after my post-partum period for 2 months and decided that I rather be home with the baby. I did a lot of research and reading on that subject. They say that your child gets familiar with voices, scents, etc and they learn over time who is who. You have to remember that you're the one who carried him for 9 months and when you feed him, talk to him and hold him on your chest, that he knows who you are! I don't think that anyone can replace mommy or daddy. My son was 2 months old and knew when mommy had him or grandma. He will enjoy your mom, but watch how happy he is when "mommy's" home. You may have to worry about him calling her momma when he gets a little older, but that's about it! Don't worry! A suggestion: Have you thought about working from home, ie: childcare? That's what I'm doing.

Probably. Its what generally happens the more time a baby spends with someone other than mom feeding them and holding them and caring for them.
