Nope. The game pieces become obsolete after the game is over. When a new game starts up, only the new pieces can be used.

You're wrong. If you look, all the new pieces have serial numbers on them. I doubt they would match up with last year's pieces.

no they update them every year and they are only valid when the monopoly game is being played/

They are different. I think they use to put the dates in the background or something.
