I thought we got it back after civil rights and Vietnam were settled. Now there are people who want to say civil rights were a mistake and we should have killed more people in Vietnam. How did these vulturous death mongers get into power AGAIN?

"You have a Republic--if YOU can keep it"
--Ben Franklin

When we have an aware and involved citizenry--as we did in the 1960s--good things happen.

But we--you, me, far too many Americans--spent too little time participating in our public affairs (note--I admit I have to include myself--sigh).

Here's some questions to ask yourself:
>do you vote?
>do you ever write your political representatives?
>ever been in aprotest, demonstration, etc?
>ever work with/for a organization trying to make changes?
>ever write the local newspaper on an issue?
>ever work as a campaign volunteer?
>ever go to a public hearing in your community?
>do you know who your elected representatives are--local and state, not jsut federal?

How many of us can answer even a third of those positively? Almost none--and THAT s why the demagogues, the corrupt scum, the bigots, got back in power.

What happened to the UK also? It is a sad fact of life that the further people get from the word of God the more they are like a lot of sheep without their shepherd. They think they are enjoying themselves and doing what they want but they have really lost their way. Let's hope they find it before it's too late.

This moral compass, moral authority question always cracks me up. Where were the morals when we landed in this country? Salem Witch burnings, small pox laden blankets to the Indians, Chinese enslavement, black enslavement etc. Moral compass. Yeah right.

It's because they've hijacked the word "morality" to mean their own twisted view of morality. The word just doesn't mean anything anymore. Whose morals?

But yes...people who pretend to be Christians while slavering for more war nauseate me. What do they REALLY think Jesus would think? I'd love to hear that little kernel of self-doubt that operates in their heads in the dark hours of the night.

It fell overboard. After every war starting with WW1,Americas family values declined further. We seem to enjoy that which pushes america farther downhill.

Our Government is a den of vipers, and once in awhile one of them gets loose and strikes at anything, and tells us how they all truly feel, and think. It is scary too consider that 99.999% of them think just like this.
