Not necessarily the infamous "turkey baster" option, but a more advanced technique of using a syringe (with no needle of course) My husband and I have regular sexual intercourse, but I have some fertility issues, and frankly we would have to have sex 3 times a day to increase our chances. There just aren't enough hours in the day! We have been married for 10 years, and I we haven't had any luck with a live birth. 1 ectopic, 1 misscarriage, and alot of tears. I can carry naturally according to my OB, but cards are stacked against me. I really don't want to start invitro cycles just yet. Expensive, and exhausting...Really want to exhaust all other options first.

I personally do not know of anyone who has used self insemination, but my cousin and his wife just gave birth on Sept. 19 to a beautiful baby girl after trying for over 10 years. They conceived using IVF, but it took numerous attempts. I only know a little of the procedures and process they went through, they are pretty private people, but I do know it was expensive and very emotional for them. Their problem was sperm related on my cousin's part and they had to go with donated sperm. If the problem is with your fertility, I am wondering how self-insemination will be helpful. I don't know alot about infertility, but I was always under the impression this technique was most typically used when the fertility problems were with the man (or to conceive without having to have sexual intercourse). Of course, your doctor knows you and your situation best, but the couples I know who struggled with infertility were always frustrated with the schedule they had to keep of having sex on certain days. Frequent sex was actually discouraged for them. Is your OB an infertility expert as well? If not, maybe he/she can refer you to one. I know my cousin and his wife tried numerous things before going with the IVF. They were guided by an infertility expert that they really liked.

I am very interested and curious approximately your query and googled it really somewhat. What I determined was once this process is best relevant or works whilst impotency or vaguism (last of the vagina throughout sex) is a component. I am now not definite if so with you- and whether it is then I wholely advise it. It turns out to have a well cost of good fortune. But for unexplained fertility I don't see the way it can aid. That is that if you're in a position to have intercourse- the well historic customary approach then self-insemination is not going to aid. The diff among self-insemination (SI) and synthetic insemination (AI) is that for AI the sperm and egg are fertilised earlier than being injected into the uterus- right here among the tricky activity for the sperm is completed. Now if the uterus is capable it is going to persist with it and voila you're pregnant! If you're ovulating and your tubes are open and your egg exceptional is well and your uterus lining is possible and your hormones are in stability- and nonetheless now not pregnant in a million year it's then mentioned "unexplained infertility". Now you notice how tricky it's to have these kind of elements in line in combination the equal month...and in addition including your DHs sperm attributes..the possibilities of having the whole thing running in a month is just a mere 20%!! So for a few it takes greater than a year and medical doctors placed is as infertile- I hate that phrase!! I consider you each have got to paintings it out slowly and take it handy. Do a few extra study. May be its as handy as now not pondering abt it- if thats ever feasible! lol!! Neway well good fortune expensive!!! I desire you'll be able to reward us with extra information so we will aid you larger! lots and lots of little one filth********

First, having sex 3 times a day might be part of the problem!! Every other day is what most doctors reccomend, because it gives his body time to build up the sperm back to a maximum sperm count. Also, tracking your cycles might help too. I found www.mymonthlycycles.com very helpful when TTC.

If you've been trying for 10 years, then self insemination probably won't make a difference. Talk to your doctor about clomid and other fertility options. Good luck.
