If you meant comments...I don't mind the negative ones (for example, coming from someone who has misunderstood something I've said), I may or may not respond to him/her, depends on a couple factors...if I am in the mood to (as there are times in which I am not in a talkative or social disposition) and most importantly, if I think it could lead to an interesting discussion.
Arguing is not my cup of tea, in fact, it irritates me, for offtimes people begin to make it personal rather than staying on topic. But I do enjoy discussing and debating.
If the person insults me directly, I usually ignore or laugh at their reaction, it depends.

I rarely respond to a compliment except for a "Thank You". With negative, insulting , unnecessary foul language aimed at me for no reason at all, , I will often respomd especially to a stranger with a curt" I bow to your superior ignorance" and let it go at that.

I cant recall ever getting one.. But if I did I might comment and ask why they said this? Why did they have the gall to say this untimely conversation. ME? I would not put up with it prob. come back with something just as rude or maybe just ignore what they had just said. I think ignoring the comment and walking away would be the best way to handle that.

I used to care what other people thought about or said about me.
Not anymore.
I act in accord with my morals and ethics. I'm here to please myself; no one else.

It wasn't always that way. And I was miserable trying to please everyone else; never pleasing myself. I may never see that person again. Why should I let his/her opinion matter to me?
