well, i'm not sure of the prices of gifts i receive...
i think about $200 for a basic car stereo / cd player was the most expensive gift it received...

as for gifts i've given, i can't remember exactly, i think it was around $200-300... a PS2 several years back (when they were fairly new)
[that's if you don't count the house i just bought with a loan under only my name (yes, i pay the mortgage) & put my husband's name on the deed so he has half ownership]

From me to a male: approximately $2000

From a male to me: approximately $20,000

Of course, you don't even ask what the gift was nor who the male was. My gift to a male was giving my brother money to help start his business. My gift from a male was my father gifting me with a college education.

The most expensive gift I've gotten from a guy was a small jade polar bear on a piece of amethyst. I would die before asking him how much it cost, but it probably cost a lot.

The last time I bought a guy something, it was a sandwich. My friends and I aren't big on gift-giving, really.

I pay for young men's college degrees (and women's), and I sponsor young artists (like really young unknown rappers with talent). Max US dollars? Maybe $50,000. Gift from a man to me in US dollars? None, really, never even a diamond. But, I like flowers very much. And, fancy pastries.

The ski trip to Aspen--$5,000; the skydiving lessons, $3,000--the man who reads to me before I fall asleep, priceless.

Why would you ask this question? Who cares what something costs? My greatest gift is my daughter, and the greatest gift I can give anyone is my time. What else matters?
