In my state...the law which bans drug abuse is one of the following:

1) Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
2) Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree
3) Possession/Receipt of a Controlled Substance
4) Manufacture of a Controlled Substance
5) Trafficking Illegal Drugs
6) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
7) Possession of Illegal Precursors

I'd be willing to bet every other state has the same or similar laws.

There are already lots of laws banning drug abuse. Are you asking if we need to have a law requiring us to have a law?

You mean like the abuse of prescription drugs or all drugs?

If you aren't allowed to purchase , sell or possess illegal drugs and people still do them, why would making a law about abusing drugs make any difference?
