There is no perfect time. I know 60 year olds that act like they are 2 when it comes to politics. In every question I have asked, I have gotten reasonable answers, dumb answers and some downright scary and ranting answers. And I have asked at various times.

Here is what I do. I give a thumbs down to the ridiculous. That way, I only have to see the answer once. From then on, it doesn't show up. Out of sight, out of mind. So maybe you get 10 answers and 5 are loony. Just thumbs down the 5 and you still have 5 that may lead you into an intelligent discourse.

Good luck and don't give up.

Late at night. Late afternoon is the worst, some of the kiddies get home from school and hop on the computer. You can actually see the change happen between 3 & 4 pm.

Edit: After midnight, Eastern time, it seems to calm down a little.

Sorry, but yahoo answers isn't the place to exchange ideas or have mature discussions. Nearly every question in the politics section is loaded with bias and devoid of substance. It's entertainment, that's it.

Late at night or early in the morning seems to be the best times to me, but there's no guarantee. Weekends are awful.

Never. If you want to have true honest and good political discourse it is best done in person not over the internet. People like to spew their hate when they are not seen.

Ok sorry. I've got it out of my system now.

What would you like to seriously debate?

Usually you get the best serious discussion after midnight during the week.

Late nites, after the trolls and kiddies have gone to bed.

I don't think that ever really happens.
