Underneath it as if you ever want to change it for another model and it a different (smaller)size then you will have a space with no tiles! This is for the extractor fan in the kitchen .
Bathroom you tile around it.

tile around the hole ..then if you have to change the extractor at some time .you wont have to worry about getting the same one
