While I don't think Clinton will be considered THE best, I do believe he will be in the top 5. He did some very good things, but socially, he was inept!
Bush being the worst, absolutely! No question there, none at all! He didn't cheat on his wife, that we know of, but has destroyed this country!

He wasn't. That honor would go to Wilson or FDR. Someone said Hoover, and he wasn't anything great, but my God..FDR presided over the Depression until death. And admitted to continuing Hoover policies. LBJ was pretty terrible too. I'd still have to consider it Wilson or probably FDR. The only thing Clinton did that would put him as a contender...if this is what you're getting at, is basically letting 9/11 happen. He had multiple opportunities to apprehend Bin Laden, but refused to do so. When that plane crashed in the White House lawn, people joked it was his intelligence chief trying to get an audience with him. His former advisor Dick Morris, says he saw eye to eye with Clinton on every issue but one...terrorism. He plainly said Clinton did not take it seriously. Clinton's actions were noted by Osama himself. Or lack of action, rather. Clinton stated himself he let Bin Laden slip through his fingers, though it was more like at least twice, maybe three times. So that's pretty bad. But I still can't place him as worst, honestly. A Fascist like Wilson(and FDR supported many of his atrocious policies) is a better candidate, by miiiiiiiiles.

Clinton has a long ways to go to top Teddy Roosevelt. But you're not really interested in history or facts are you? You just want to make a moronic statement and demonstrate how ignorant you truly are.

The economy went bust in March of 2000 and the stock market started dropping. George Bush hadn't even been nominated yet.
George Bush's economy is much more robust than Bill Clinton's was.
Low crime, did you forget all about those church burnings that occurred in the racist climate fostered by Bill Clinton.
Crime is still low under George Bush but there has been an increase in crimes committed by illegal aliens.
Bill Clinton said that he could "probably" balance the budget in seven years. The Republican controlled Congress balanced the budget in two years. Of course, George Bush had to make the last payoff on the S & L bailout so that was 320 billion that Clinton had to play with and he spent it.
Peace? Clinton deployed troops to more countries than George Bush and committed numerous acts of war on countries too weak to fight back. Clinton is also the one to sign an executive order to remove Saddam from power in 1998 which Bush carried out.
Surplus of money--see republican congress
Oh and I love this, Bill Clinton never got a majority of the vote and Bush had more people vote for him in 2004 than any other president in history.
Bush
Worst economy??? Ever hear of the Depression of 1870 or the Great Depression of 1929? How about the mini depression of 1960 or the great malaise of the Carter years?
High crime??? Where exactly?
Deficit? We were already trillions of dollars in debt (not deficit) before Bush showed up. The U.S. has never had a deficit of trillions of dollars. There is a difference between the two.
wars? Afghanistan has oil?? Terrorists yes, poppies yes but oil (in any great amount)?
The title of Americas first dictator was taken by Abraham Lincoln already. It was one of the many things said about him during the war between the states.
Closet thing to Hitler? Pol Pot, Stalin, Krushev(?), Mao, Kim Sung IL, Kim IL Sung.

Don't be a fool, stay in school... and stay off the drugs.

I am not political, but I would say President Clinton is the best president of "modern" times and here is why:
1. Family Medical and Leave Act 1993 (If something happens beyond your control, your livelihood and benefits will not be taken away from you, and retaliation by employer is prohibited.)
2. created of the AmeriCorps volunteer program (brought vital resources to established programs, including Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the American Red Cross)
3. Brady Bill 1993 (Brady Law requires that background checks for individuals be conducted before a firearm may be purchased from a dealer, manufacturer or importer)
4. Attempted to get Ehud Barak of Israel and Yasser Arafat of the Palestinian National Authority, to agree to a final settlement agreement(It was the first direct, face-to-face agreement between Israel and Palestinians- a major milestone)
5. Initiated the Don't ask, don't tell policy toward gays in the military, 1993 (The actual policy was crafted by Colin Powell and has been maintained by Clinton's successor, George W. Bush)
6. One America in the 21st Century (race relations)
7. Earned Income Tax Credit expansion (a refundable tax credit that reduces or eliminates the taxes that low-income working people pay; The EITC is the largest poverty reduction program in the United States. Almost 21 million American families received more than $36 billion in refunds through the EITC in 2004. Also, empirical evidence suggestst that every increased dollar received by low and moderate-income families has a multiplier effect of between 1.5 to 2 times the original amount, in terms of its impact on the local economy and how much money is spent in and around the communities where these families live)
8. supported the North American Free Trade Agreement (The benefits of NAFTA have been quantified by several economists, whose findings have been reported in several publications like the World Bank's Lessons from NAFTA for Latin America and the Caribbean, NAFTA's Impact on North America, and NAFTA Revisited by the Institute for International Economics.)
9. Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (now expired, but TANF recipients must must work or look for work).
10. Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996
Clinton remained popular with the public throughout his two terms as President, ending his presidential career with a 65% approval rating, the highest end-of-term approval rating of any President since Eisenhower.
11. Iraq Liberation Act of 1998
12. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (landmark achievement for the recording industry)
13. In Europe, Bill Clinton remains popular, especially in a large part of the Balkans and in Ireland. In Priština, Kosovo, a five-storey picture of the former president was permanently engraved into the side of the tallest building in the province as a token of gratitude for Clinton's support during the crisis in Kosovo
In addition to his political skills, Clinton also oversaw a boom of the U.S. economy. Under Clinton, the United States had a projected federal budget surplus for the first time since 1969.

You really are deluded.

Clinton didn't do what you claim. We had a PROJECTED surplus of money. The budget was balanced by the REPUBLICAN Congress.

The only peace that happened during clinton was the pieces of tail he chased .

The economy was falsely inflated and started to fall before he left office.

Try actually LEARNING the facts instead of being programmed by your moronic teachers.

As far as Bush, The economy is actually doing great but just because you can only get a job flipping burgers, you think it's Bush's fault. It's YOUR fault.

Crime is actually on the down side.

The deficit is caused by the war of terror you moron! Remember 9/11?

War for oil??? HAAAAHAHAHAAHAHAA!!

If we fought the war for oil, you pinhead, why has it gone UP instead of DOWN?

And what is wrong with defending Israel? I bet you would cream your jeans if Israel and the "Jews" were wiped out huh?

You make me SICK! Our country is DOOMED if the schools are pumping out retards like you.

"Worst economy in history????"

Are you serious? Unemployment is 4.7% beyond the peak of the interest rate cycle, CPI is 2.5%. A generation ago we dreamt of unemployment in the 6s and CPI in the 6s.

The economy was good under Clinton too.

Same reason: CAPITAL GAINS TAX CUTS.

"High crime????

It's inching up as people who served mandatory sentences put in place in the 1980s and1990s are being released 15-20 years later, but its not "high."

Deficit is not in the trillions. Debt is. That's a problem - a problem easily solved - a problem easily solved by vetoing bills that would expand discretionary domestic spending! Note, if it were not for the increase in domestic, non-military discretionary spending, in real dollars, since 2000, we would not have a deficit.

Afghanistan war is not for oil. Ever heard of 9/11?

Yes.

Bush has only helped himself and his friends.

Not one person can provide reasons for why Clinton was a bad president besides an affair, which has no effect on the stability of our country.

Bush has the country more split now then during the Vietnam war. Bush belongs in prison, along with the members of his administration.

Do you find it convenient that most Bush supporters also are very racists and uneducated? Go figure why they like this guy. I got news for you Bush groupies, Bush could give a fat **** about you. He doesn't care about you. He is only trying to help himself and his friends. If you actually thought he cared about you then why hasn't accomplished anything he promised prior to being elected? At least Clinton followed through on his promises.

FDR will probably go down as the best, and Johnson the worst of the 20th Century.

Currently, Bush is the worst President of the 21st century, by virtue of him and Clinton being the only two Presidents IN the 21st century. Let's give it 93 more years before we decide on this century, shall we?

History has already shown Clinton to be one of the worst right up there with Carter.

Great Economy = Thank Regan and Bush 41 for the economy he inherited

Low Crime rate = Again thanks to policies implimented before he was elected

Balanced budget = yeah right

Peace = Really ? Somilia, Bosnia, the embassy bombings etc... were peace ? How about all those Cruise missles he fired at an Asprin plant in Chad ROFLMAO

It's quite safe for me to assume you are under 25 and therefore you are irrelevant in any political discussions.
