I know colleges like Western Career College and CSI College claim to be accredited by the US Dept of Education. I have looked on the site and I didn't find either school for the state of California. I want to purse a career in pharmacy, and I wanted to know if anyone here has done one of the 18 month courses and how well(or bad) it turned out for them when they tried to look for work? is it recommended or should I go another route?

If you went to one, you wouldn't be a Pharmacist, but more likely a pharmacy tech. Which if that's what you're looking for, will be fine, I believe most two year colleges offer it also, you will just need to ask around. To become a pharmacist, you'll need a four year degree, than go to pharmacy school which will be another two years or more and internships.

It takes a minimum of 6 full time years to become a pharmacist: 2-4 years of undergraduate and 4 years of pharmacy school.
