I never did have a pair, but always wanted to own some. But that reminds me of a little joke . . .
An elderly couple, Margaret and Charles, are in California. Margaret always wanted a pair of go-go boots. Seeing some on sale one day, she buys them, wears them home, walking proudly. She walks into the house and says to her husband: "Notice anything different about me?" Charles looks her over, "Nope." Frustrated Margaret storms off into the bathroom, undresses, and walks back into the room completely naked except for her boots. Again, she asks, a little louder this time, "notice anything different NOW?" Charles looks up and says, "Margaret, what's different? They're hanging down today, they were hanging down yesterday, they'll be hanging down again tomorrow." Furious, Margaret yells, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY THEY'RE HANGING DOWN, CHARLES?" "Nope", he replies. THEY'RE HANGING DOWN BECAUSE THEY"RE LOOKING AT MY NEW GO-GO BOOTS!!!!!" To which Charles replies, "YA SHOULDA BOUGHT A HAT!"

Hi nc,
Boy did you bring back memories!
I have always been tall and thin. When all my friends bought those boots, I had to also. They were supposed to be tight but mine looked like I was walking around in my father's boots. Too funny!

Yes, of course. I remember marching around the house in them as a kid singing "These Boots are Made for Walkin'", the song Nancy Sinatra made popular at the same time as that style! Didn't Jessica Simpson do a cover of that recently--not nearly as good as orig if you ask me!
Thanks for bringing me a memory that made me smile today.

Oh, goodness, yes. I had a boyfriend who bought mine because he worked in a shoe store and got a big discount.
They were open toed, had laces on the side and looked like hooker shoes. I wore them because I really liked him. It was fun. Everyone wanted to know where I got them.

Yes. I remember wearing go-go boots in the 5th grade. I'm surprised it hasn't come back in style.

I sure did, I loved them. Wore them until they were to small to wear. Knowing my mom like I do, she probably still has them put away some where. (She keeps every thing and I do mean EVERY thing.) I thought I was something else when I was wearing them.
