Have a regular routine for going to bed and waking (even on your days off). This really worked for me. And if I go to bed and am not aleep within 15 minutes, I get up and go read or do another quiet activity until I feel drowsy again. Exercise just before sleeping is a stimulant, so do that earlier in the day. Good luck!

As an herbalist, when someone comes to me with insomnia, I always try to figure out what the cause is in addition to providing a remedy for immediate relief. If your having trouble GETTING to sleep, then you could try chamomile, lavender or kava kava. If the problem is STAYING asleep, then passion flower will do the trick. And yes you can combine them without any problems. I actually make a sleep formula that is kava kava & passion flower. One other herb you can use if all else fails is valarian root. It kind of smells liek stinky feet, but it works really well. Truly do try to figure out the cause though, temporary stress, inability to shut the mind off to relax & go to sleep, nightmares, sleep apnea, etc...Good luck!

I have taken Ambien for years.
If that doesn't work, I add Benadryl.
If that doesn't work, I add Soma.
