I would consider racism a mental thing. People think that someone from another race is "different". The only way to destroy racism is to help everyone understand that all people are the same, right?
So, if we are trying to take down that invisible wall, why do so many applications ask if you are black, white, Native American, etc. For example, to get into graduate school, to file for Financial Aid, etc. Why should my race have anything to do with me getting financial aid or not? Doesn't this continue to strenghten the wall instead of destroying it?

Yes, affirmative action creates more racism. Because it discriminates against White males.

Alot of people don't understand that affirmative action came about for not just blacks but for women and the disabled.
You tell me? Is there an equal number of visible minorities in the work force and at high paying positions? Don't forget this includes the disabled and women. Is everyone receiving an equal amount of pay and benefits?
Many college and university do ask for race because there are institutions who have donated money for scholarships and bursaries. But don't forget you also receive Male? or Female? on applications as well for the same reason.
I suppose when we are all equal, when there is no longer any discrimination towards races of people, the disabled and women then those things will no longer be needed on applications.

Slavery and racism are the two stated in the Bible. actually, the two Testaments provide you sparkling instructions on the thank you to deal along with your slave, and in case you're a slave, the thank you to serve your grasp. Leviticus 25:40 4-40 six Exodus 21:2-6 Exodus 21:7-11 (it fairly is approximately intercourse slaves) Exodus 21:20-21 And in the hot testomony Ephesians 6:5 a million Timothy 6:a million-2 Luke 12:40 seven-40 8 So god did create slavery and racism, and he wrote a e book approximately it too.

I do agree with you. The more we focus on race the more we will continue to have racism in this country. Good luck. 2D

Exactly, so please do something about it. Don't commit racism and that will help dissolve the problem.
Hate begets hate which leads to affirmative action, violence and other unrest. Do unto others as you have them do unto you. Don't discriminate and then the other race related application data, but unfortunately racism won't ever go away. Why it was mandated and spewed like a filthy sewer since the inception of this country! Guess who started it all!!! Damn them to hell! All of them!!! Hate begets hate!!
Thanks.

I always wondered the same thing. Another thing is...many people say that we all originally came from an African decent so if thats the case..living in America we would all be "African American"..no?

I agree with you. James is the reason why racism is a thriving "business" today. Your mindset is like that of a child...sit down.

Affirmative action still exists, so the question still needs to be asked on applications.
