It's funny because you're absolutely right.

particular, yet could people who've felonies or are in reformatory be allowed to vote? yet another question could be how could a 'Democracy' perform? the reason our founding fathers setup a Republican Democracy is via the fact commute and verbal exchange strategies have been so gradual and expensive: not all of us could pay attention to and vote on a situation: consequently we % people to symbolize us. this is now not mandatory with the information superhighway and laptop Public/inner maximum key secure practices mechanisms. there is not any reason shall we not be an entire democracy and vote on stuff and deliver Pelosi and Boehner packing.

Interesting thing democracy. The founding fathers considered it very very dangerous. Which of course is one of the reasons
we have a democratic Republic, or Republican form of democracy. In a true democracy a leader can be a hero one day and stoned(with rocks-not weed) the next.

Not an oxymoron.

Especially if its a "democracy" forced on you by an occupying power and not one you've come to yourself, and that occupying force demands you have a "democracy" just like theirs or suffer the consequences. Not very democratic is it?

I think they are afraid of US troops running all the rackets. At this point they ought to be thankful they are being forced to become a Democracy compared to just getting another Dictator du jour.

Who would vote against Democracy? It is a basic human need to have freedom.

To begin with, remember we live in a Republic, not a democracy. If you disagree, look it up. Our constitution is founded based upon representative votes, not 1 vote for each person.

So saying we're a democracy is a misnomer to begin with. So your question may apply to a real democracy; but what does that have to do with the U.S.?

obvious to an idiot maybe, what would be the point of bankrupting the USA imposing democracies on people who will just decide they don't want one anyway, seems a bit foolish

Yep. That's exactly what happened in Russia and going to happen in Iraq if they have a chance for democratic elections. For some unclear reasons US doesn't want it to happen.
