Yesterday morning someone shattered my moms driver side window into little pieces (small) most of the window was still intact w.the frame. My friend told me that it must have been done w/a spark plug-cuz it makes no noise & it breaks windows in small pcs. I go to bed at 1am, & that night I slept down stairs (being able to hear EVERYTHING thru the garage)-I heard NO sound of breaking glass, to top it off I have 2 lil chighuaguas (fisty lil things) they didnt even bark- Could it have been a spark plug ?

Maybe. But it could have been something else. I am a volunteer firefighter and we use a device called an automatic center punch to assist in removing an accident victim from a vehicle. This device can be held in the palm of your hand and easily concealed. The device has a pin punch on one end. The pin is placed against the glass. You then push on the device and a spring mechanism inside the handle of the punch "shoots" the pin/punch against the glass breaking it. These devices can be found at any hardware store. When the device is used, it causes the glass to spider into little pieces, but the pieces don't always fall until you hit them with your hand. It really does not create a loud noise. I would suspect that the individual used this type of device. This would also explain why your dogs were not alerted.

Could have been the heat, or a pebble, or a spark plug. A glass expert told me that heat can shatter a window. And my mom's rear window was shattered from a pebble and we didn't even hear anything except the glass crackling, and saw the pebble stuck in the glass.

The glass is tempered glass, which makes it very tough to scratch or break. But tempered glass is always in a stress because of the way it's made. Sudden temperature change will cause it to break. And it always shatters in small pieces. I have seen them bust for no apparent reason at all. Lawn mowers are their worst enemies by throwing rocks at them.

Me and my sister used to sneak into the junk yards and break stuff. And yes, a blueberry size chunk of spark plug insulator thrown at a tempered glass window will shatter it. Bricks never worked.

This is done with an automatic center punch.

I think it is a conspiracy with your chighuaguas. Always look at the ones who didn't bark or see anything.

BB gun works just as well, but from afar. Works on the chighuaguas too.
