"We need all of the children in this country to learn Spanish at an early age, not English only!"

Dennis "Jose" Kucinich, Democratic presidential candidate.

I speak more than one language and believe it's great for kids to be biliqual. But why just Spanish?

What is his stance on illegal immigrants? Does anyone know?

Typical cons!!
The idiotic point of this Que. is beyond me!!

You cons don't ever bother to see the good side of things. As long as, an issue feeds your hatred, racism, egos and moronic agendas in whole!!

I do think that foreign language should be taught a young age - just because this is when the brain is most open to such knowledge and because speaking multiple languages is a distinct business advantage that our population lacks.

Picking one for everyone is a bad idea, however. Financially speaking, we should be learning Japanese and Chinese since they are our biggest trading partners. Spanish makes sense too because it opens up an entire hemisphere worth of nearby trades and deals, but they shouldn't force everyone to learn the same 2nd language.

I think kinda "wierd" on this, while citizenship should require English and the business of government should be in English, why wouldn't we want our children to learn a second or a third language.

You are right, why not more than just Spanish.

Regarding Illegal Immigration, I believe in building a wall between here and Mexico.

I do like watching Dennis but won't vote for him. He's too radical.

As far as illegal immigration, no one is for illegal immigration, he might be for amnesty or whatever but no politican will say yes lets let people in undocumented.

I support bilinguan education from an early age but believe it should be a choice of what language or language the children learn. Even though I live in Texas and would benefit more from learning Spanish, I instead chose to learn French. You see I will likely run into a number of scenarios where Spanish would be beneficial here in Texas, but the way I see it is they should learn our language. I plan on visiting France, therefor I should learn there language.

What do i think? I think, it's a great idea.

Unlike you cons, I'm looking at the bright side of the issue and AM NOT influenced by prejudice and racism. My children are learning Spanish as of this moment. STOP BEING A COO COO!!

AND, this guy above me, RAMair...what ever!! is been watching too much cartoons!!
Another case of ""con, filled with hatred!""".

I think he's a little nutty; but asking children to learn more than one language isn't a ridiculous idea. What does it have to do with immigration?

Are you saying that asking children to learn more is akin to saying we want more Mexican immigrants?

I agree, lets have kids be bilingual. There is a 90% chance that a child in the U.S. will be exposed to Spanish versus other languages, so logically, I'd say Spanish is ok by me. Beats the heck out of Latin.

Again, just cause he's a nut, doesn't mean the proposal is incorrect.

Playing the conspiracy theories devils advocate:

Whether you agree with the Bible story or not, God convoluted the people by confounding the languages.

If we are to become one nation i.e. The North American Union, not only will Americans learning Spanish ease the transition on the macro level, it will also assist in making it less… offensive if we all had something in common.

Just food for thought...

It's interesting how all you cons call someone you disagree with "crazy"

First off, where's the rest of the quote? Or did you take it out of context like you cons usually do? I don't have a problem with my kid learning Spanish, it's one of the easier languages that I've learned.

It's amazing how you cons have to turn everything to illegal immigrants. You people are so judgmental, and it's interesting that your party is the one who benefits most from people staying illegal.

Was he talking about learning spanish or illegal immigrants?. Was he talking about both issues?

I know languages because I want to, not because a politician told me or because there are or there aren't immigrants.

I was watching a PBS program about the % of language is going to be spoken all over and it was China's language, and schools are teaching it.

The both might be wrong, as soon as we get Democrats running the show the only language we are going to be speeking is arabic ....
