At first I thought the top one was a brown recluse (I thought I could make out the violin pattern)

Both are quarter-sized, maybe a little bigger

The second one is a rabid wolf spider.I'm not sure about the first one,but I think it may be a hobo spider.I'm pretty sure it isn't a recluse, however hobo spiders can cause a nasty reaction if they bite you. These guys eat a lot of insects,so I would just leave them alone.

The second one looks like a wolf spider to me, the first one looks more like a brown recluse but I'm not sure, I'd just step on both of them if I were you.

Looks like the first one could be either a common Wolf Spider, but more than likely it is a type of Araneomorph Funnel Web Spider. These include the Grass Spiders. The Funnel Web type usually includes a large set of spinnerets on it's abdomen which are not evident in your photo, but it sure does look like one. They are very similar to Wolf Spiders, but, like I said, have an obvious set of spinnerets on the rear of their abdomen and their eyes will not glow in the dark when shined on with a flashlight. They are smaller and less robust than the Wolf Spiders but are similar in their body's shape. Do not confuse this with the Funnel Web Tarantulas, which include the Sydney Funnel Web Spider. These spiders are not dangerous to humans like the Sydney Funnel Web Spider's are.

Keep in mind that there are almost 500 different varieties of this spider, and they live on every continent, except Antarctica. The photo I have given you is to show the large spinnerets, I have seen many that look like yours. They are pretty common where I live.

The second is a Wolf Spider. They have strong, robust body...are very fast, and aware of their surroundings. They have very good eyesight. Like I said earlier, a sure way to ID them is to shine a flash light at them at night as their eyes will glow, similar to a mammals eyes. They are active hunters, meaning that they do not build a web in order to catch prey, but will hunt them down, and then pounce, hence the name. They are venomous but are not dangerous to humans. Their bite has been known to be quite painful thought.

Both are very beneficial spiders and are not dangerous to humans.

btw, neither is a Brown Recluse Spider, or Hobo Spider even though the Arananeomorph Funnel Web Spiders include the species known as the Hobo Spider. Brown Recluse..No!!!!

Neither is a brown recluse. We have plenty of them here in Kansas and I have seen several close-up. The violin is on the back and is easy to see.

When I was A kid we called em crab spiders, but later i learned that's not the real name. They are pretty cool though. Some of em look like Samurai faces. Edit: Ok, It is A Spiny orb-weaver

the one for sure looks like a brown recluse i don't know about the other but they both still look poisonous and i would step on them both and exterminate around the house. and where ever else you see them. try calling and having your county extension agent coming out and check it out. thats something they would like to keep a record of. best wishes.

Hi. Not a spider expert but this site has a similar look. How about the size? If this is right than I agree with answer 1. Poisonous. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.pennhealth.com/ency/images/ency/fullsize/19570.jpg&imgrefurl=http://pennhealth.com/ency/imagepages/19570.htm%3FarticleID%3D000033&h=320&w=400&sz=25&tbnid=9_vcvET5cE0c8M:&tbnh=99&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbrown%2Brecluse%26um%3D1&start=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=image&cd=1
