what language was spoken there?my daughter has to have some facts about this era in Poland PLEASE HELP thanks

Umm...People in Poland speak polish, a slavic language. The 1940's were the time of Nazi occupation in Poland, so several ethnic and cultural groups were under persecution, mostly Jews.

I think it's safe to say that people in Poland spoke Polish. Also, the early 1940's--think World War II and Nazi Germany. Were the characters Jewish? There was a lot of persecution and anti-semitism in Poland at the time.
