Easy. Turn your jeans inside out and put them on. Use a piece of chalk to mark just below your knee. Grab the extra jean material to the inside of your ankle and by the seam and pull it straight out and even. Use a straight pin to pin the material together at the point you would like the jeans to be plus an inch or two for the room to remove your foot. Take off the jeans. Careful of the pin, don't stab yourself. Lay the jeans out flat and use a ruler to measure from the hem up to the chalkmark. Measure from the hem of the other leg to mark the same distance to match the first. Now measure from the seam at the hem into the point where you pinned the jean and pin the other leg the same way using your measurement. So now you should have two points on your each leg in identical spots. 1. The mark just below the knee on the inside seam and 2. the pin or mark on the hem at the bottom of the leg. Use your ruler and chalk or fine point pen and draw a line from the mark just below the knee to point on the pinned hem. Your line should form a triangle with the excess of material to the outside of the pant leg. Use a sewing machine and sew down that line. Backstich at the top and the bottom. Turn the pants right side out. Try them on! If the seam is too tight you can remove it and let it out a bit. If it fits good you can cut off the excess material inside the jean leg for a smoother fit.

Oh i did that on my Alteration and Restyling class..mine was actually a mom jeans and i had to make highwaisted skinny jeans out of it. it's abit tough...unless you've plenty of experience. i had to rip out the inside seam../it depends on the jean seams/ and cut off about 2 inches then re sewed with jean thread! you can do shortening on the leg openning by taking off few inches n re-sew. hope this helps! goodluck!

Ooooh, that's a tough one...but a great idea! I guess you could rip out the outside seam and RE-sew them, just taper them a bit more. I would try it on a crappy pair first though!

I don't know any store on the PLANET that sells jeans for $20...lemme know where you find that store!!

Well JON MAC, you just go on and buy your sh*t jeans. By the time they fall apart, you'll spend just as much as a quality pair.

that would be difficult unless you are a seamstress. you would probably have to cut a piece of material off of the bottom of the jeans and resew them the way you want them
