I think I was bitten by a brown widow on saturday. I was extremely swollen until wed. now it just itches terribly, and there is a little brown spot where I was bitten. anyone know how long till the itch and spot goes away? (The reason I think it was a brown widow is I have found them around the house. Last year I had a black widow problem. So brown widow isn't so bad in comparison) Thanks for the help.

Take some anti-biotics ASAP! My 3 yr. old got bit by a spider a few weeks back and his arm was swollen and red and itched a lot. Took him to the doctor and by then he had developed a small fever. Don't think it was a black widow or a truly poisenous spider because all he had was an itch and a red spot from the scratching. Dr. only gave him anit's and he took it for a few days and is fine now. But he is only 3, you are an adult and best thing to do is STOP scratching and rub some anti itch cream on it or go see your local doctor for a quick inspection and see what he/she says. Good luck!

whats up Spidey! Naw, purely kidding. Our epidermis get reddish and aggravated because of the fact there is distant places protein (thus, perhaps the fairly some toxin from spider gets below your epidermis) in ur epidermis and your anti-histamine is working against it. there's no longer various blood community around our ear (i know there is capillaries) so it would take somewhat longer. Plus, if the spider is poisonous, perhaps you is purely no longer right here now and you will need your ear amputated. because of the fact the redness is getting away, hassle no longer. you would be great. purely, do no longer rub and scratch it that normally!!!! i've got faith this is why your ear remains pink after see you later!

Brown widows have more potent venom than Black widows, but they have a lot less of it and rarely bite. Try http://sarasota.extension.ufl.edu/IPM/BrownWidow.htm for some good info.
