I was looking at some pictures of one of my daughter's friend's 16th Birthday party on Facebook. She has a big party with about 100 people.
My ex-husband and I knew her parents and used to meet them at social outings. I also went to see my daughter's friend when she was born.
I wonder sometimes why things seem to work out for them - good kids, house, jobs and intact family. Yet, my life is so messed up - marriage did not work, child is not doing so well in school, career is not where it should be, no social life, etc.
I am happy that this family has a good life and things worked out for them. Yet, I look at my life and wonder where I went wrong. I could not adjust to my ex-husband and left him so many times. He was and still is abusive, controlling and manipulative.
Life is strange......I guess you have to make the best of each day.
Why is it that some people have a smoother life than others?

I wish I knew. I wonder the same things. But once a good friend who I thought was so happy told me, she puts on a big show.
I would rather just be than have to work so hard to "appear" happy.
Pray that god will take you down the right road. Sometimes people do not appreciate how good they do have and I am sure you would appreciate it more.

We knew what we were getting into before we came to this earth and we knew it would be something that would test us and that at times we would experience trials, some which seem near impossible to deal with.
Thank goodness we also know that we are the captains of our own vessels. Yes we are greatly affected by those around us and the decisions they make, right or wrong, but we still have the power to exercise our agency and make the best of what we have been given. We must find out the lessons to be learned from the difficulties we are experiencing. The greatest part of it all is that we can choose to let our situation get us down or choose to be happy despite less than ideal situations and then do what we can to change them.

Life is unpredictable and VERY short... We only have a limited time in this world what we can accomplish or not... Personally, I just want to live a good life without any regrets. The REAL suffering are those people living in the 3rd world countries - they have practically nothing... And yet, they're VERY happy... But in the developed countries, people here are not so happy with all the materialistic things they accumulate.

We cannot be all the same, our destiny is uncertain from day that we were born, some have it smooth and some have it tough! But remember that no one is perfect!
There are some people that can make others believe that their life is so perfect but honestly I do not believe them ! everyone as a flaw, we are humans and we make mistakes .
We live in a real world not a family show like the Brady Bunch. It would be nice if it was like that! but it isn't ,so be happy and try to make a life for yourself and your children the best way that you possibly can .

Because some people don't make good decisions. If your husband is abusive, controlling and manipulative, that's your problem right there! You are unhappy because you're with a horrible person. If you had chosen to leave him and find someone who made you happy and treated you like you deserved to be treated, then you would be a lot happier. You can't blame fate for your own decisions.

It boils down in making better choices for the whole family. We must remain objective about everything. The minute we let subjection in, it creates a big mess. I hope it works out for you.

I know what you mean.
It's like you and a friend go job hunting. You both apply at the same company.
You've always worked, but your friend never worked a day in her life, and she gets the job!.

Very good question. Sorry I don't have a good answer. I feel the same way sometimes. But I keep telling myself, that no matter how bad things get, they could always get worse.
