If my mom continues to tell me to do the dishes I just get tired of her telling me over and over again that eventually I just don't want to do them and I don't.

I also have a co-worker that thinks it is necessary to share every little thing she does and it gets so annoying. I don't feel the same way. So when something goes on she like makes a big deal and feels left out if she didn't know. So I just don't really want to share much with her.

Well the co worker thing must be annoying, but doing the dishes wouldn't hurt.

If you would just do the dishes the first time your mom asked, she wouldn't keep "nagging" you and you wouldn't feel that way. The co-worker is a little harder. If she asks why you didn't tell her something important, just tell her that you're a private kind of person and don't feel like you need to share every little detail of YOUR life with everyone.

With the dishes, I would just get them done so that I wouldn't have to keep hearing it and then they're also out of the way!! I understand about the co-worker I don't want to share my life with just anybody!!

When it comes to your mom asking you to do the dishes, why not just do them? It would make her happy and eventually you happy because she won't be on your back. As a previous believer in "if you tell me too many times I won't do it" I've found that it ends up backfiring and people just get mad at you. As for your co-worker you can continue to not tell her things, work is for work not for gossip. If she has a problem with it she should be working in a place where she gets paid to gossip, like a tabloid magazine's office.

You're still a childish girl...he he he. Maybe you don't have the initiative that's why your mom keep on telling you to do the dishes. Washing the dishes won't damage your reputation.

Your co-worker needs shoulder to cry on. This is the only way she feels relieved of her problems or complains.

Don't ge me wrong act as a grown up girl, alright?

CHEERS!!!

I don't like doing what people expect of me, when my mom told me to do the dishes, I wouldn't do them, I don't let people tell me what to do. I'm not the kind of person that can be pushed around...
& your co-worker, I think I would get extremely annoyed by someone like that, I'd ignore her as much as possible, especially since she thinks you're her best friend...Maybe she's a lil too nosey.I can't stand people like that...

Yeah, I feel the same way.

In particular, if I was just about to do something anyway but then someone nags me about it, it makes me delay doing it a bit longer so it looks like it was my idea to do it and I'm not just giving in to nagging!

Totally self-defeating, of course, but I didn't say it was logical.

you ought to assert, yeah, those home equipment and tv's are incredibly incredibly high priced, in a tragic tone of voice. and those game structures too... yet they won't get the hint. Ugh. no one likes a bad-mouther.
