If you have an oppertunity to go I say jump at it and enjoy. Just remember it is just like anywhere else in the world. There are good spots and bad spots.

The Philippines are a lot of fun and beautiful. It has been about ten years since I last went but I will never forget the time spent there.

I have had many friends and girl friends from the Philippines. The people are very friendly and giving. Filipinos are very much into family and togetherness. Filipinos also know how to have some fun! I would love to go back again some day.

Wow. That's a loaded question!

James Webb expressed my impression best in "the Emperor's General" regarding the Filipinos: "To the Death! That's how we live, that's how we love, that's how we fight!"

The Filipino is a unique creature. Illiterate before the spanish, it is a proud culture without a past. The Filipino can make himself at home anywhere in the world, and adapt to any culture, but will not be happy doing so unless he has rice to eat.

He is proud, devout and ingenious, yet at the same time humble, irreverent and sometimes foolish. He understands the importance for the rule of law, but chooses to settle his disputes the way his ancestors did.

He is the Irishman of Asia, derided for being lazy and ignorant, and at the same time the prime export of his country is highly educated people who work their tails off to get ahead.

He is Everyman. He is all of humanity, all the good and all the bad, wrapped up in a blanket of innocence. His current problem is his only one, and he knows that when he solves that, everything will be good.

God chose to put the Filipinos on an island so they would not be able to overrun the world.

I could go on and on. . . .

Most of what has been said is correct and there are many good qualities, but one aspect I have disliked is the fact many Filipinos look down on mixed Filipinos or people that are part Filipino but not fluent in tagalog. Instead of embracing them as many other ethnic groups do with their diaspora they reject them. It's a bad cycle because as more Filipinos move beyond their homeland they are shunning an ever growing group that could contribute greatly to Filipino culture and the economy of the Philippines.

You asked this question in YA Philippines? Of course I'm biased towards the Philippines and Filipinos because I'm Pinoy. Had you asked this question in a different section (perhaps Polls and Surveys), you would have gotten a more accurate and unbiased opinions from people around the world. But I hope you did get enough of what you want to know.

It's nice to see that other people like Filipinos. I love them and my counrty too. They are the best at lots of things, haha.

Unfortunantly the Philippines is going through a hard time, as it has been since the U.S. invaded us. I am under the impression that Filipinos would rather be American than Filipino...

I wish that we would grow some huevos and stand up like our forefathers. We have lots to be proud about.

Most Filipinos strive to get jobs abroad-- especially in the United States.
Filipinos are also very, VERY nationalistic. They support Filipino artists abroad, and in the Desperate Housewives case wherein the character has lines containing bad things about the medical school in the Philippines, a lot of Filipinos voiced out their concerns.

Filipinos ROCK! I knew tons of guys in the Marines. They like to party, they had hot sisters and whenever I was there, in the Philippines, the people were the nicest of all our ports of call. Philippines and the US have been through a lot together.
