Patriots. You think that Cowboys' secondary can stop Moss, Welker, AND D-Stalls? I don't. Besides, the Cowboys haven't played anyone good yet. Don't get too excited.

Well, as touted as this game is, it should be great to watch for sure. I am a die hard Dallas fan, and have been since birth, but after watching tonight's game against the Bills, I have to wonder if Dallas can pull it out. The Patriots are the most complete team in the league, if for no other reason than they have the most experienced team. And Tom Brady is an excellent quarterback hands down. But Romo can throw five interceptions, fumble the ball once, Buffalo can play what probably will be their best game of the season, and the 'Boys can still win it? I don't think it will be an easy win for the Pats...or the Boys either. But all these Pats fans need to keep in mind that the Boys will be playing in Texas Stadium, and that they have already proven that when the chips are down they can pull it out anyway. Just like the Boys fans need to remember that Tom Brady knows what it feels like to win a Super Bowl, and what it takes to get his team there. I still have to go with the Cowboys though...and I only think they'll win it by three.

Dallas is at home, but that is really their only advantage.
Offense - QB - New England has a huge edge here. Tony Romo is a good Quarterback, he is no Tom Brady.
Runningbacks - Dallas has more of a featured running back who is productive and can certainly pound out a lot of yards. New England uses more of a running back by committee - splitting time between Maroney, Morris and Faulk who are also productive. Both teams can run pretty well, Dallas might have a slight edge here but not much of one.
Recievers - Both teams have good recievers. But New England has the edge here. TO is a good reciever when he catches the ball but probably already has the NFL record for career drops. Witten is a good tight end, possibly a little better than watson. Daunte Stallworth hasn't had a lot of catches thus far but is still a very capable reciever. He's had some knee and hamstring problems, he should get better as the season goes on. Wes Welker has had a good season playing a possession reciever role. Crayton has had a good year but I would take the Pats recieving core over the Dallas recieving core.
Offensive Line - New England has the edge here. Both teams have been good up front but New England has been better.
Defense - DLine - New England hasn't shown any signs of trouble here. They have shut down running attacks and mustered a hefty amount of sacks. Dallas' DLine has also shown they are pretty good.
Line Backers - New England has very versitale linebackers who can rush the passer or drop back into coverage. This gives them a lot of flexibility in defensive schemes and New England has the edge here.
Secondary - Dallas has one great corner, known as a shut down corner. Other than that, Dallas has a pretty weak secondary. New England's secondary has looked pretty good so far this season. They gave up some yards to Palmer but also managed a pair of INTS. They held palmer to 13 points. Harrison should be back into football shape by the time these two teams meet. This creates a major problem that I will talk about below.
Coaching - Bill Belichick is definately the better coach than Wade Phillips. Bill has beaten Wade on several occassions, and although Wade Phillips is a good coach Bill is better. The patriots add wrinkles to their schemes every week, which makes them difficult to game plan for. With Harrison coming back into the starting lineup in a week or so, the Pats will add more than just a few. Harrison gives the Patriots several options in blitzing and coverage that they dont really have with Sanders. Sanders has done a good job filling in for Rodney and will get some playing time, but expect more than one INT when Rodneys on the field because the Patriots will throw looks at Romo that he wont be able to figure out.
All in all, the Patriots are stronger than the cowboys. The cowboys have had some trouble getting off the gun and putting points early. In the past 3 weeks this hasn't hurt them because they have played Miami, Chicago and St Louis who are all in the bottom 5 offense this season. Against New England this will kill them. Expect New England to come out scoring right from the gun like they have all season. By half time New England will probably be ahead by 20 points or so, and will match the cowboys point for point in the second half.
Final New England 41 Cowboys 20

Straight up? Both teams!
Against the spread? Colts for sure, Patriots most likely. (14 points is a LOT!)
I pick all NFL and College football games each week against the spread and straight up, and post the picks on my website. Last couple weeks have been pretty good for my NFL picks, a sweep two weeks in a row!
Go to the link below for all the picks.

Jim Baw, don't get too excited about the Cowboys' D not being able to stop anybody just b/c they haven't played anybody. Who have the Pats played? Cowboys opponents are 3-13 while Pats' opponents are 4-12, not much difference. So what would tell you that the Pats' D that has allowed a TD everytime their opponents have made it to the red zone would be able to stop Romo, Witten, TO, Crayton, Hurd, Jones, & Barber?
And Johnny boy, you mean Romo playing like last year when he went 6-4 playing his first 10 games ever after being an undrafted kid from a Div. II school and sitting on the bench for 3 1/2 years, you know what, I'll go with that kid.
Cowboys take it in a close one.

The Cowboys are going to be home, so that will be a nice advantage. I think it's going to be a great game between two QB's that are having outstanding years. They are pretty even in the running game and I would give a slight edge to the Pats on the receiving end. As far as defense, right now I would have to say the Pats get a slight edge there as well, but the Cowboys are starting to get their mojo back on the defense, so who knows. It's going to be exciting for sure and I can't wait to see who is the better team.

let's hope the Cowboys win so the Patriot fans will shut-up for a couple days
I realize that the Cowboys fans will come out and be annoying then, but it would be a nice break from the Pats fans.
