I don't know what a typical republican is.
They like everyone else have their own agendas and issues. Sometimes their issues even coincide with the people that elected them to office and the people are represented the way they should be.
I believe this it true of the Democrat's also. I've never figured out what a typical Democrat was either

I am a liberal who usually votes Democrat. However, I think it as absolutely ludicrous to assert that Senator Craig is a typical Republican or even a typical US representative.

I think so. The republicans for the most part are conservatives and prefer to keep sex of any kind in the dark. What would you think of a president (Bush) who condones only abstinence as a form of birth control? And he does.
