Neoconservatism can be found in most encyclopedias. So I will list their traits instead.
IN GENERAL (exceptions to every rule)
True Conservative:
Honest, religious, family oriented, generous, hates liars, believes in fair play among the average American.
Supports small government, fiscal responsibility.
Neo-con:
Dishonest, divorce and adultery oriented, selfish, supports liars, believe in any means necessary to get what they want.
Supports big government, fiscal spending into oblivion.
- Q: If true Conservatives were still in charge of the Repub party, could a person like Giulliani have run as a conservative, let alone become their front runner? -

True Conservatives believe in holding their own to a higher standard and accountable.
Neo-conservatives seek every excuse for the words and bad behavior of their own.

Wow, cool...That is probably why I can have friends who are republican, & not have too much trouble! That also means as a democrat, I am not necessarily a liberal either! Excellent point!

Unfortunately for the GOP the neocons have a grip on their party and it may take some time for the party to purge them to a state of near extinction. The Karl Rove agenda of a one party system (Communist or Fascist systems are one party) nearly ruined the Republican party. They took over on the coat tails of Ronald Reagan calling themselves conservatives. New conservatives were supposed to care about people like Democrats while, at the same time, in favor of less spending and less taxes like a true conservative is supposed to be. Unfortunately like everything else about the neocons that is a lie. The compassionate conservative is an oxymoron if there ever was one. The lies, corruption, incompetence, arrogance and greed of the neocons has cost this country dearly. There is hope, however.
By voting Democratic in the 2008 election we can restore America's standing in the world and we can forward an agenda of progress which leads to a better quality of life including quality health care made affordable and available to everyone. This quality of life would help fix problems people have by being duped by unscrupulous lenders. The progress would include jobs in industries that promote, develop, and manufacture alternative and renewable sources of energy or the capture of energy from the sun, wind, water and other natural recurring forces. Americans have led the way in most other major improvements in the world. The telephone, telegraph, television, medicine, and countless other areas the world is better because of inventions by Americans. We introduced the world to so many things. Now we have that opportunity once again with renewable, sustainable energy. That not only benefits us economically but internationally in the sense that those in the Middle East who desire to live in the 14th Century can be allowd to do so because we and our allies won't be needing their oil. Without our money they will not be able to finance some of the evil things they have wrot upon the world.

The official "they"? I deplore those who pigeon hole groups and extort the truth. It is another cog in the wheel that continues to divide us and we were meant to be a union. If you start from a platform of prejudice you have no where to really go , do you?
Now you have this interpretation further adding to the dissension. I'm not supporting these stereotypes and feel they are getting insulting on here, more and more. Doubtful the dictionary includes this definition. Thank you.
*Divide and conquer is a fundamental core of Communism. Keep that in mind. That is in your dictionary/World History books.

The only reason you asked this question is to express your disappointment with the people currently in the Republican Party which is completely understandable! Understand though that it is very likely that Giuliani will win the nomination because social issues have taken a step back for more important issues such as Iraq, Health Care, Education, the Economy, and Social Security.

Thanks for that definition.
I now see I am not a neo-con
You're questions to neo-cons often (albiet poorly presented) question the views of regular conservatives like me.
You should see by your definition that there are no neo-cons.
When you post a question to a neo-con, you are clearly trolling as your question is addressed to no-one.
As for Mr. Giuliani, he is the Republican candidate, there is a spectrum of middle-of-the-road to conservative in the Republican party.
Mr Giuliani is not the most conservative candidate.
The purpose of a primary is so the party can choose a candidate that best represents the majority of the members of that party.

It looks to me you just put a smear term in for those you don't like.
Talking about dishonest than Reid would have to be a NeoCon or support liars than you have to lump in all DNC candiates for president because they support of MoveOn.org's ad which was an outright lie.
Adultery - than Bill is a NeoCon?
I can see a lot of the liberals can be mark as NeoCons.
So can I say that Hillary is a NeoCon because she will do anyting to get elected even calling a general a lair to his face?

I don't agree with your definition, since the original use of the term "neo-con" referred to Democrats who were, in the day, acting more like fiscally conservative Republicans.
More agenda driven rants from Chi-Guy.

I agree with you. People like Mitt Romney and Ron Paul are true conservatives. Giulliani is too liberal to be considered any kind of conservative, even neo-conservative.
However, when it comes to using pressure to silence critics and use of any means possible to win, that pretty much sounds like Hillary Clinton. Wouldn't you agree?
