I write military fiction books and frequently have dreams about scenes from my book or the back story.

My worst dream was probably when my book counterpart was the sonar officer on a submarine and was in a training exercise. One of his best friends was a sonar operator on a destroyer hunting the sub. The surface ship kept using its powerful sonar (it produces those pinging noises you may have heard in movies) almost non-stop. The sub had to slip by the destroyer and pretend to fire torpedoes at a carrier. It finally did after 2 hours. I remember being in the role of my book counterpart and doing everything as I wrote it. I woke up right after that ended sweating heavily and my ears were ringing. It seriously scared me.
